The creator of the award winning sitcom ‘Modern Family’ Steve Levitan, has gotten himself in quite the pickle- his wife of 23 years, Krista, has filed for divorce.
According to TMZ, Krista filed the documents, citing irreconcilable differences- although a representative for the writer later told the site that the filing was done in mistake.
“The filing was made in error and is being withdrawn.” The rep said.
Irrespective of that comment, the divorce proceedings appears to be going on uninterrupted, with the documents indicating that the split occurred on New Year ’s Eve.
53 year old Steve has three children with his soon to be ex-wife, all adult, so custody and child support is not an issue. Spousal support however, is a matter that would have to be settled in court.
Steve’s magnum opus, Modern Family, has won the Academy award for outstanding comedy series for the past five years, losing out just last year to HBO’s Veep.
